Domestic electricity consumption in 2009 was 148.7 TWh. From this total, 90% was produced in coal-fired power plants with 57% from hard coal and 32% from lignite-fired plants. The remaining 10% was produced in power plants dedicated to industrial purposes (5.7%), gas-fired plants (2.8%), hydroelectric (2.1%) and wind power (0.7%).
